every little thing she does is magic
this is the second year in a row that she's hoodwinked me and sprung a surprise party from under my very nose.
last year's walk to brewerkz that culminated in a surprise birthday party complete with self decorated cake and plenty of friends was overshadowed tonight by the sheer number of people that turned out for the barbeque dinner at my place. "oh damn, i think i pit-char lobang when i told you your parents were having a party for you tomorrow night" she tells me, "please don't let them know i told you ok?" followed by "can you follow me to pick up the cake i bought for tomorrow? the shop closes on sunday."
so i obligingly follow, stopping at basheer to look for a spectacular book on the complete works of tadao ando, followed by a stroll in the newly completed national library right next door. in her eyes, the surprise didn't work when i begged off from wandering around more because of the headache i suddenly developed, but to me, nothing could really beat coming home early and seeing dad on the barbeque, the tables set out in the garden and the party that was just waiting to happen.
my party. organized by the person i love. in my house. under my very nose.
she's disappointed that the surprise "didn't work".
i know for a fact that she's wrong. and i love her that much more for making the magic that transforms everyday of my life.
