go see it... really

roger ebert put it most succinctly when he said "in 30 years, i have never written these words in a movie review, but here they are: you owe it to yourself to see this film. if you do not, and you have grandchildren, you should explain to them why you decided not to"

i mean truth be told, would really wants to pay good money to see a movie about al gore giving a lecture on global warming? sure, all the reviews i've read claim it to be a "must watch", but i think if it wasn't one of the video on demand choices on my flight back from sydney, i probably would have given it a miss too. then again, i didn't have persuasive people like myself to hound me day in and day out about watching it.

i watched it for free, but you can be damn sure i'll buy the dvd.

if al gore was this charismatic during his presidential election campaign, i have no doubts he would have won hands down. but then again, i guess when you are really passionate about something, it's not difficult to let your guard down and speak from the heart.

i won't go into the details of it all, i'll leave that to the movie. all i can do is to reiterate how important it is to go. ebert goes on to say at the end of his review, "i did a funny thing when i came home after seeing "an inconvenient truth." i went around the house turning off the lights."

i did exactly the same thing.
